The Inclusive Hub CIC

The Inclusive Hub CIC is an award-winning community-based social enterprise delivering a range of exercise, motivational and social activities for children and young people having a range of neurodiversity, learning difficulties and physical disabilities.

Symbiont was approached by Liverpool City Council to engage with the Hub to support the development of activities and services for the local community, particularly disadvantaged residents. At the time, the Hub was operating as a project of a long-established amateur boxing charity, sharing premises and resources. Following a programme of research and consultation, we helped the Hub to 'spin-out' and helped them to establish their own independent Community Interest Company offering a range of fitness, inspiration, movement and motivational support to a range of local groups and individuals.

Symbiont supported the Hub through a period of dramatic growth, where the demand for services expanded rapidly, including delivery throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. We helped the Hub to secure new premises in Bootle, to conduct a £200,000 refurbishent project to improve facilities for users, and to establish a range of new services to meet the emerging needs of their users.

The Hub now delivers activities for upwards of 1000 children and young people having a range of neurodiversity, learning difficulties and physical disabilities, along with motivation and progression activities for female ex-offenders (delivering a 100% success rate in preventing reoffending).
